Tiesse also supplies CPL CONCORDIA for smart building management

Tiesse, a company of the Nvd group founded in 1998 and focused on corporate networking, was selected with its M2M product line as a supplier for data transmission over a cellular radio network within the IT solutions of CPL CONCORDIA. This company used Tiesse’s M2M mobile radio products for its Building Management System (BMS) solution in the context of the remote management of the thermal systems of several buildings for which it has an Energy Service contract.

Tiesse, which in fifteen years has been able to impose itself on the national market in a highly competitive sector such as that of routers and machine-to-machine equipment where it competes with big international players, has supported CPL CONCORDIA right from the initial stages for technological validation and the best fine-tuning of the solution.

Tiesse designs and manufactures in Italy routers with connectivity for fixed network (ADSL, ISDN, HDSL, G.SHDSL, VDLS2) and mobile network (GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, LTE) and M2M equipment. Their functional characteristics and high performance make them suitable for use in Mission Critical applications that are sensitive to service continuity, security, network performance and cost control.

For several years now, CPL CONCORDIA has been using for its BMS (Building Management System) architectures a private APN as the network infrastructure to which the various ‘nodes’ are connected, which acquire a static IP within the CPL network. Each “node” represents one or more remote peripheral devices used for remote management, automation and remote reading of data from a heating and cooling plant in a building with an active conduction and/or Energy Service contract. Each peripheral is web-server and performs the following operations: plant automation, real time data publication via integrated graphic pages, sending of critical or deferable alarms via e-mail or SMS, historicisation of trends of all significant plant quantities, periodic sending of automatic reports.

“For Tiesse, the supply to CPL CONCORDIA, one of Italy’s leading multi-utility companies that also operates internationally, has an important significance,” said Fabrizia Montefiori, managing director of Tiesse. “In fact, we believe that over time the recognition of the validity of our products can extend to other offer profiles and to different markets,” continued Montefiori. “We have long been present in the Utilities sector with m2m products and routers for both traditional infrastructures and smart grids.”
