IoT smart building energy management
GETEC is one of Europe’s leading energy service providers and procurement specialists for industry and real estate. With over 2,200 employees at more than 50 locations and from four regional platforms in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Italy, GETEC provides smart and green energy services to its customers in nine European countries. In addition to a comprehensive range of solutions, a competence centre located in each regional platform offers additional expertise and capabilities for all GETEC customers across Europe – including artificial intelligence-based energy solutions, district development, renewable energy development and the use of residual materials for energy generation.
The challenge
Remote management and remote monitoring are essential in the integrated energy and heat systems, to monitor consumption and to better adjust operating parameters.
The use of remote platforms and tools for analysing energy performance data, identifying waste and diagnosing system inefficiencies are of paramount importance to optimise the system and save energy. In this context, the quality and stability of the connection of the products used to acquire all the data become key factors. In addition, GETEC ITALIA was looking for a partner capable of providing a solution that would minimise installation time and technician field trips.
Tiesse’s solution
In GETEC ITALIA’s OT Systems and Smart Control Centre services, the role of the control and monitoring system is fundamental and is also the starting point for guaranteeing an efficient and quality service, aimed at providing adequate operational flexibility. The network equipment connected with the control centre, via the cellular network, must be secure, reliable and always-on ensuring seamless connectivity. In addition to this, we were looking for a solution that would require as little time as possible in terms of configuration and installation in field, supported by a company that could guarantee both solid expertise and support with immediate feedback, all in line with market prices for professional IoT products.
Tiesse’s IoT routers are pre-configured directly in factory, which takes care of inserting the SIMs and integrating the complete solution in special boxes with the necessary connections and power supplies. In this way the finished product leaves the factory ready for installation, which takes place without wasting time and resources (zero touch provisioning).
Tiesse pays particular attention not only to the economic competitiveness of its products but also to the efficiency in the configuration and installation phases, and to the quality of operation, aiming to eliminate inefficiencies caused by the interruption of data transmission.
Tiesse pays particular attention to TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) by focusing not only on the economic competitiveness of the equipment but also on efficiency in the configuration and installation phases and on the quality of operation on a daily basis and over time, aiming to eliminate any inefficiencies caused by interruption of data transmission or equipment failure.
